Our Counselors

My road to becoming a counselor was long and winding. I was born and raised in Central Florida, attending UCF after high school, then earning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College while working in health care administration.
It was my personal life journey of healing that led me to become a counselor. Experiencing the healing process firsthand changed my life and solidified a deep longing to help others heal as well. I found that it was only when I dove into the deep end of my own painful experiences that I was able to find restoration.
When I’m not working, I am usually spending time with my wife and our three children. I also enjoy golf, reading, coaching little league, attending UCF football games, and doing home improvement projects.
My Approach
“Integro” is Latin for: “restore, repair or recreate.”
Although no one wants to experience pain and suffering, I believe that any situation can be restored with the right help because I have experienced significant pain personally and have used therapy, community, and connection with God to help me heal.
I help clients grow through their most difficult times and make use of even their worst experiences. The path to healing and restoration is a lifelong journey and I love helping people connect the dots of their personal stories to why they think, feel, and behave the way they do. With this insight, we can move toward restoration, healing, and a more congruent and fulfilling life.
I use an integrative approach, infusing Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Narrative, Adlerian, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness-based theories. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). Each client is unique, so I first assess what the most pressing needs are then create a collaborative plan for healing with the client.
Even if your situation is dire or if you have tried therapy in the past with poor or mixed results, in the words of Winston Churchill, “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.” Find the right counselor for you and keep moving forward. You won’t regret it.

Everyone deserves a safe place to explore and work through life’s difficult issues. I am passionate about helping people navigate these challenges. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia while working with high-risk adolescents. Seeing the impact of counseling interventions on children and families led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Counseling and later my Educational Specialist degree in Counseling Supervision and Leadership, both from Valdosta State University. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including the juvenile justice system, the public school setting, as an adjunct psychology professor and research consultant, and in private practice.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, gardening, and cooking. I am passionate about the relationship fitness and nutrition play on our mental health and you can usually find me geeking out on the most recent research on the subject.
My Approach
I view my role as a counselor as a partner and an educator with the goal of helping clients learn how to think about their thinking, recognize maladaptive behaviors and habits, then use skills to gain clarity and confidence to create cognitive and behavioral change. Whether it is working on intense issues or just personal growth to live optimally, I can help you by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused techniques that are tailored to each person’s unique situation and need. We will work to create practical, actionable strategies that you can use right away that will lead to meaningful, measurable growth. I also look for opportunities to infuse art, movement, and music into my practice for those clients who are interested in those techniques. I am in the mind, body, and soul business and believe we are better when we approach change holistically.
Treatment Areas
In addition to working with adults dealing with anxiety, mood disorders, and life’s challenges, I also work with athletes working to improve their performance, children, adolescents (with an additional focus on student athletes and actors and gifted & talented students), improving the parent-child connection, maternal mental health, postpartum support, managing parental rage, and helping educators and caregivers prevent burnout. As a mom of three young children, I understand the demands of parenthood and the unexpected challenges that accompany this stage in life. My children are my greatest teachers and most days it feels like I have done more self-discovery in the years since becoming a parent than all my years before that.

I became a therapist because I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of authentic connection. From a young age, I’ve been drawn to people’s stories, struggles, dreams, and the strength they find to keep going through pain and uncertainty. I chose this path because I want to walk alongside others as they navigate life’s difficulties and discover purpose and meaning in their lives.
What inspires me most are the powerful moments of growth that can happen in therapy—when someone begins to believe in their worth again, when patterns start to shift, or when a long-held burden begins to feel a little lighter. Being a therapist allows me to hold space for those moments and guide the process of healing and change.
To me, therapy isn’t about labeling people as broken or flawed, it’s about recognizing when something in life isn’t working and finding new ways forward. We all reach points where our usual ways of coping fall short, and it takes courage to ask for help. I see therapy as a space to explore what’s not working, build on what is, and discover new tools, insights, and directions. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they make sense of their experiences and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
My Approach
I draw from various therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. Every person responds differently to treatment, and part of my role is to help identify and apply the approach that best fits your goals and values. My work is grounded in a client-centered perspective. I see therapy as a collaborative process where I walk alongside clients as they move toward self-discovery and meaningful change.
I also take a trauma-informed approach, which prioritizes emotional safety and recognizes how trauma can impact a person’s view of themselves and the world.
In addition, I incorporate evidence-based practices (EBPs) to support structured, goal-oriented change. During my clinical training at the Orlando VA Healthcare System, I completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also use Solution-Focused Therapy and am currently integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps clients align their actions with their values while learning to navigate difficult emotions more effectively.
Treatment Areas
I have experience working with teens, young adults, adults, and Veterans. I enjoy supporting clients through life transitions and helping them manage challenges such as depression, anxiety, anger, and spiritual struggles. I also work with individuals processing trauma, drawing from my extensive experience at the Orlando VA.
Additional areas I address include self-esteem and self-worth, burnout and work-related stress, performance anxiety, and existential concerns such as identity, purpose, and mortality. I aim to create a space where clients feel supported, empowered, and understood so they can move toward the kind of life they want to live.

My career in Social Work spans three decades of providing services to those in need. Whether serving in child welfare, as an adoption counselor or working with court-involved juveniles, my goal is always to engage with my clients in a manner that gives them respect and dignity.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Counseling Concentration from Liberty University, a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Social Work from Tulane University. I hold clinical social work licenses in Florida, Alabama, Ohio, Mississippi, and Louisiana and am able to provide clinical counseling and other social work services in all five states.
My Approach
My approach to counseling is rooted in Strengths-based Perspective that seeks to engage my client in establishing his/her treatment goals and encourages each client to invest in their own progress. With an eclectic approach, I tailor my counseling modalities to meet the needs of my client. I utilize components of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, as well as others, to assist my client in moving forward through his/her circumstances and emerging on the other side with renewed hope and on the path to healing. As a follower of Christ, I infuse a Biblical perspective and faith-based component with my counseling approaches.
Treatment Areas
I work with clients dealing with a variety of issues ranging from infertility, adoption issues, grief and loss, marital infidelity, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life circumstances, and more. I understand that asking for help can be one of the most difficult things a person can do. But, if you are here, reading this, you have the courage to do what it takes to move forward. I hope that you will allow me to be a small part of your healing journey. Please call me to schedule an appointment and take that next step.

I am originally from Northern California; where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Minor is Psychology from Sonoma State University.
